The Bonsai Show is getting closer! Saturday, April 24th 10:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday, April 25th 11:00am to 4:00pm There were sign up sheets for trees that will be in the show, and people to do demonstrations on styling trees, as well as general helpers. If you would like to add your name to any of these sign up sheets contact Dan Bonnett, the Showmaster. If you watch 6 in the Morning on Tuesday or Wednesday, you might have seen a familiar face. Mike Blake was scheduled to promote the Tulsa Garden Center's Garden mART. There was some talk about getting on channel 6 to promote the Bonsai show as well. Oklahoma magazine will also be publishing an article on bonsai. The workshop went well. Do we need a historian? If you think we do, maybe you would like to volunteer for the job. Show and Tell: Mike Flanagan brought two very nice Azalea's, which were full of blooms and Jim Tweet brought a lovely boxwood.C.K. Carlson brought an Azalea he got at Stringer's with a witches broom he hopes to isolate. Peter Aradi brought a handy tool that can be used for cutting branches and carving roots. For those who thought this tool would be good to add to their collection, you can pick one up at your local Japanese hardware store for about seven dollars. | The Air Layering demonstration by Norman Summers was informative but we will not see the results until next year about this time. If the results are ahead of schedule, Norman said he would bring the tree back, so we all could see the results.
